Lampwork Glass Bead

DETAILS
This is a large, dark bead, made on a base of semi-opaque turquoise glass. It was heavily coated with a metallic frit, and then exposed to an oxygen starved flame to reduce the fritted glass and bring out metallic lusters. It was finished with a design application of grey stringers and raised dots of various shades of blues and greys.

Bead Width (side to side): c. 27.5 mm (1 1/8 inch)
Bead Height (hole to hole): c. 44 mm (1 3/4 inch)
Bead Thickness: c. 12 mm. (1/2 inch)
Hole Size: c. 2 mm. (3/32 mandrel used)
