A wonderful set of earrings, made using lampworked beads mounted on gold-toned earwires, embellished with black and bright yellow (mirror cored) seed beads. The earrings hang down just under 1 3/4 inch (41.5 mm.) from the ear wires.
These lampwork beads are made using a base of honey-colored yellow opaque glass. To this was added a bit of silvery-blue frit powder on the surface, and finished with an encasing of clear glass. The frit gives a variation of tones from browns through blues. The lampwork beads are about 7/16 inch in diameter (10 mm.) and 1/2 inch (11.5 mm.) tall.
And of course the day I made these, I appropriately ran over a yellow jacket nest in the lawn with the mower, and was stung many times! they have since all gone to the big bee-hive in the sky!
